(Ward) Six Reasons To Vote For Me
I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I stand up against any type of bullying. I boycotted events that could have helped me gain recognition because a candidate who promotes hate was also invited to the event. I will always stand by my principles and my values and beliefs. You can count on it.
I believe that every human being deserves to be treated with respect and with dignity.
‘Anti-woke’ is just the latest euphemism for racist / homophobe / transphobe / bigot / misogynist.
I have always and will always champion for those who are being mistreated or bullied. I will make sure that council and the mayor value each and every citizen in Guelph unless they are spreading hate. Then, I will not hesitate to speak up. As I have said before: “There is no place for hate, homophobia, transphobia, bigotry or misogynism on Guelph City Council.”
I understand the role of city councillor. The council exists to represent all Guelph residents. We are there to help make your life better, more enjoyable and less frustrating. We are there for you; not the other way around. I will represent everyone in Ward 6 to the best of my ability. I will not be there to have endless debates, pay for more and more consultants and pocket $50,000 as a personal bonus. Unlike many of the other current councillors, I will approach my time on council as a serious duty to you; not as a passenger on the gravy train.
I have proven experience as a leader and a valuable team member in getting things done. I have experience as someone who champions necessary capital projects and helps to bring those projects to completion on time and under budget. I also have proven experience as a sound fiduciary, who takes the responsibility seriously. I will work as I always have, to help eliminate waste and help provide solid financial management.
I am a pragmatist and a realist. I will work with council and the mayor to find pragmatic solutions to the challenges we will face over the next four years. I will not vote for pie-in-the-sky recommendations that have come from yet another expensive survey or consultation. We need solutions that are realistic and that work for everyone in Guelph. My feet are firmly on the ground; and, my head is not in the clouds.
Just like everyone, I have my faults. However, one thing that I can say with 100% certainty is that whenever I apply myself, I always bring my complete dedication. As part of an organization, I bring passion, determination and dedication to the task at hand. I always work hard to make the organization the absolute best it can be. If elected, I will bring the same dedication, passion and determination to city council in order to help make Guelph the best it can be. I hope I can count on your support!
The ‘My Campaign Blog’ link above will allow you to read about and my campaign. The links to the various newspaper articles and candidate questionnaires will inform you as to where I stand on the issues facing us over the next four years.
I welcome you to use the Get In Touch page to send me your suggestions and ideas – I have a few of my own – but I want to hear from the residents of Guelph. Let me know what is important to you – what would you like to see City Council improve, change or implement.
